at least with Sci-fi stories different games employ COMPLETELY DIFFERENT stories, people/parties, weapons, etc... The only common thread is that they take place in the future. This is why you can have a Halo 3, Killzone 2 and Resistance 2 - they all take place in different universes.
With World War 2 you're using the EXACT SAME sides, weapons, story (or at least basic plot), etc... There's not a lot of variety because you're using an event that actually took place in the past...
and let you play as the Japanese and/or Germans? I mean we'd get a brand new perspective on the war instead of the same tired old one.
This does not mean we have to symphatize with the Japanese or Nazi's radical POLITICAL views for all the people who are already looking to tear me apart. But, maybe we can symphathize with the soldier's views on a more individual level like in movies like Letters from Iwo Jima.
Obviously, the game wouldn't end with total victory...

If they really took an effort to differentiate those 27 characters and vary how you play with each one (maybe not to a Virtua Fighter extent, but a little more than they have been doing) - or at least add tons of unique animations for those 27 characters...I'd be all for the "less is more" approach, but it doesn't seem like that (from the demo).
The SOTN on PSP looks identical to the PS1 version from what I can tell.

What's with the weird pauses/loading (?) intersparsed between big/transition attacks in Burst Limit btw? The Tenkaichis and Budokais always had seamless transitions. What gives?

2D hand-drawn style RPGs on the PSP like they do on the DS. The PSP could make them look a lot better (because of the hardware)! Why focus on pixelated 3D stuff when you can do the 2D stuff at least as good as the PS1?
